Commercial Truck Crash Reconstruction

Commercial truck crashes are some of the most resource intensive and complex crashes an investigator can handle.  The amount of property damage and injuries resulting from these types of crashes can be overwhelming. Not only does an investigator need to know how to find the evidence they need from a scene, but they also must be able to inspect and analyze sophisticated on-board electronic data that modern trucks are equipped with.

Crash Tech Reconstructionists are all school trained in the area of commercial truck crashes.  Eric Brown and Phil Relli have also spent years as Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Officers for their local police and sheriff's departments, and Eric Brown served as a heavy truck driver in the United States Marine Corps. This allows Crash Tech investigators to properly identify and interpret unique physical evidence and data generated from commercial truck crashes. They are then able to take that information to analyze if a driver's actions were safe and reasonable for the circumstances.

What can you learn from a commercial truck crash reconstruction?

Proper investigation of these crashes can allow you to make important determinations as to the cause and contributing factors of the crash. During the investigation, your expert will consider things such as:

  • Overweight loads and weight distribution
  • Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations violations
  • Engine Control Module downloads and analysis
  • Driver logbook analysis
  • GPS and satellite communication system analysis
  • Human factors
  • Tire mark and brake analysis
