Crash Tech Reconstruction Services uses the most state of the art CAD software to produce 3D scale diagrams of crash and crime scenes. The software also allows our professionals to produce 3D scale animations that conform to the physics of the crash, and run in real time. The result is being able to place a jury or other interested party "into" the crash scene so they can witness the events unfold in real time.
What is CAD Software?
Computer-aided design (CAD) is the use of computer systems to assist in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimization of a design. CAD software is used to increase the productivity of the designer, improve the quality of design, improve communications through documentation, and to create a database for manufacturing. CAD output is often in the form of electronic files for print, machining, or other manufacturing operations.
Crash Tech's experts are highly trained and certified to produce accurate 3D animations depicting a collision. Animations help give a visual explanation for how the vehicles interacted, including speeds, times, and distances. Our experts are also capable of providing a rough animation, through email, any time our client needs an updated understanding of their event.
When hiring an expert to produce an animation of a collision, there are several things you should look for to ensure accuracy.
First, who produced the animation? Often times, the Reconstructionist and animator are two different individuals from different companies. Always make sure you know who created the animation.
Second, ask for an animation report. Many animation programs provide a detailed animation report. This is a spreadsheet that shows vehicle positions vs. time of event. The data should be in x, y, and z format and at set time intervals.
Third, ensure that the animation environment is to scale and provides a fair and accurate representation of the actual scene.
Crash Tech Reconstruction Services has had a 100 percent success rate getting our animations accepted in court. Our experts are all certified in advanced diagramming and animations using CAD software.
